FRONT SEAT REMOVAL

Post by WELSHVIKING »

Hi,
I am going to take the front seats out of my xantia tomorrow so i can clean them and try to dry the carpets out . what i need to know is there any particular way you need to remove seats with airbags fitted, i am guessing there will be some type of connection under the seat for the airbag..any advice or instructions would be very much appreciated...thanks Colin

Disconnect the battery (negative first) and wait for fifteen minutes at least, then you can unplug the belt pretensioners under the seats and get stuck in with the torx bits.

Don't forget your radio will lose its code.

Reftit the seats and plug them back in before reconnecting the battery, positive first if you removed both leads.

On the ZX the plastic 'rawl plugs' in the floor can turn and undo when you try to take the floor bolts out, if that happens you cant slide the seat forward enough to get at the rear bolts. So make sure you undo the back ones first, just-in-case  :)
