Guess it depends on the wheels fitted! 14" on steels & 15" alloys. The alloys run 195 55 15 and I've seen the steels with anything from 165 to 185 with varying 55-60 section. Then of course you can have all manner of aftermarket alloys & begged/borrowed one's off Fords Peugeots etc, aren't they 4x 108PCD...

Think the SX will be sitting on 14" steels even on an W plate.

All the best,
Andrew

15" wheels. On the older Xantias, the tyre size was mainly 185/65/15,or for the pertrol turbo(?) & 2.1 TD it was 205/60/15.I think there may have been a few more size tyres, but those 2 were the main size. But yours should have 15" wheels with wheel trims. :)

Early Xantias had 14" steels,15" alloys,then from N/P reg,or all estates had 15" steels or alloys. :)

Must admit, I've not had to do anything YET on my R reg facelift 2.0 16v Xant SX estate, but no doubt it has steels so probably HAS 15" ones on it!!

All the old style "mk 1" Xantias i`ve seen,SX & VSX had 15" alloys the same as mine. The later "mk 2" facelift cars i`ve seen, its only the Exclusives with alloys. All the SX`s i`ve seen have wheel trims, the same style as the LX`s etc.It would apeer that Citroen decided to make the alloys a cost option on the face lift SX models, but they seemed to be standard fit on older SX`s :? .
Penny pinching i supose! :)

Posh Xantiae round your way then Neil!!

Round here I ONLY EVER see alloys on VSX's!!

Guess they would have been an option when new but more likely they'll have been ebayed for 20quid by handy owners who fit them on instead of the dimple edged bolt through wheeltrims that were shared with the LX's.

All the best,
Andrew

Just to add to the confusion... earlier Xantias had 'reduced width' spare steels to fit in the under boot cage.... later ones are full size.

My last Xantia was a 1.9.TD SX and registered if memory serves me early 95 it was an N plate and ran on 185 x 65 x 14 tyres on steel wheels, later that year just before the P plate came out wheels changed to 15" and 195 x 55 x 15 tyres. My current Xantia is a 1.9TD sensation running on 185 x 65 x 15 tyres on non-standard alloys but the tyres are the correct size as listed on the sticker on door shut, hope this helps a little.

I've got a PDF file of a Xantia brochure from Oct 2000. By that stage the only models available were the LX & SX with either an 1.8i 16V petrol or an HDi 110 diesel.
It gives the petrol as having 185/65 15 tyres, and the HDi diesel as 205/60 15 (both with steel wheels).

I was told the hdi90 had 185/60/15 and the hdi110 had 205/60/15. I can confirm the 110 as thats what mine wears.
