The cruise control has not worked on mothers Xantia since we got it. I had read that the pedal switch can play up & there is a vaccume pipe that can come off.
I have replaced the pedal with a brand new job & noticed that the new one has a decent click to it were as the old one didn't but still it doesn't work.
So this vaccume pipe, I have heard its under the battery, which I don't really want to disconnect, it being a Exclusive with a Auto box & all the toys - the last thing I need is it thinking its a washing machine.
So can anyone help me out, so I can go into this with my eyes open.
Cheers
R

Athough the cruise control valve is below the battery, you can't get to it that way. You need to reach it from below.
The first time I did this, I removed the front bumper, and this allows plenty of access.
I have done it again by just undoing the screws which hold the undershield which is attached to the front bumper, and bending it down a little, but this only gives space to get one hand in, and the job is made rather more difficult.

It is if you remove the bumper. If you take the keyhole route, you can see the valve body and part of the hose, but not necessarily the nipple that the hose must be pushed onto.rossnunn wrote:cool, is the pipework clearly visible once im in?
There is another hose (with vacuum from the manifold), but I can't remember if the two are easily confused.
