I'm, thanks to a recenty diagnosed failing power steering ram, going to be removing the stering rack assy tomorrow to replace the thing (the ram that is).
I've gone through haynes and it looks easy enough, but are there any things the BOL has neglected to mention? Also, I've been putting off changing the track rods and track rod ends for the last six months, so now's the time.
How do I get the rods off, there doesn't appear to be any flats or similar to get a grip on
Cheers.

Before you judge a man, walk a mile in his shoes. So when you do judge him, you will be a mile away and have his shoes.

If it's similar to the Xantia setup, you can push back / remove the gaiters and put at vice on the ball housing. It should unscrew easy enough. Have a look at the new spare, and it should be obvious. Apparently there should be some special tool for this, but as Brian advised, a vice will due the job.
