Tuning is a very personal issue. On the Hdi 90 you WILL feel the difference. It should be tunable to around 110HP.

Regarding Oil, I always use Quartz7000 from Total. But there are good equivalents from ESSO, BP, and many others. Go for fully Synth...it´s well worth the enlarged 12k miles changing intervals.

1942.

Not wishing to be rude in any way, but do you think you could use some punctuation, and not use text language in your posts. It's very difficult to read otherwise.

In his excitement, we will forgive 1942. Lets try and extend a welcome to all new members who ask valid questions.
Comments about "dyslexia" I'm not so sure about.
But it is of course best to type in plain English to help get a speedy and accurate reply!

My apologies to 1942, it was an insensitive remark but with no hurt intended.

Hello 1942, I cant vouch for tandemtunings units, but you often see psi tuning boxes coming up on ebay. I got one of these second hand off there for under £100 and performance wise it made a massive difference. Had to turn down the power from maximum setting as my clutch slipped intermitantly but im very happy with it.
99 Xsara SX HDi 105k with PSi power box- smokier but well worth the wonga!

I must admit I struggled to get more than the gist of the first posting - thought it was a blend of English & Welsh! Nevertheless, I extend a welcome to you, 1942.
How about remapping? Apparently undetectable but may get flashed back to original by Main Stealer. Speedbuster by sp-tuning.co.uk could be the answer as he offers to redo it free if this happens.
I always use fully synth - I grab a few Hypermarket own brand cans when in France as it's half the price.
Cheers,

Remapping is far more intelligent than power-boxes. Discussing the advantages and disadvantages of each solution is a never ending story... In any case remapping offers the possibility of changing more dimensions than simple powerboxing...now How can one be sure that the remapping is indeed well done and exploits all the cars "potential" to the most?

Had mine remapped by Superchips, and they give you the 'key' that can be used to put their map back again, should it be reset to Citroen parameters by the dealer. A cunning plan......

However, when the dealer realises it's remapped and voids the warranty on the engine, transmission, etc, you may wish you had used a tuning box?

Undoubtedly a remap is a better solution, but a tuning box is stealthier if still in warranty.

I totally agree with Ian...if the car is in warranty, then forget remapping unless you can put everything back as it was.

I built my own interface so I can change the mapping whenever I need
