xantia rads

Post by a hewitt »

Hi All............I am trying to obtain a replacment rad for my 96 1.8 petrol xantia sx. In addition to the usual two inlet/ outlet hose connections, mine has an extra two small hoses attached to the bottom front of the expansion tank and disappearing into somewhere at the back of the engine.. I took it to have it recored, and was told that it did not conform to any xantia core the re-corer had on his books. I was wondering what these two extra hoses are for, and why do seemingly only a few xantias have them?

Is it an automatic? Could be an oil cooler connection (heat exchanger oil/water).

nope its not an automatic, just a plain xantia sx (or so I thought) Got all the servicing history, no sign of a new rad ever being fitted to it, so must be original. Trust me to buy an odd ball.
