My car has failed the mot because under condition of service brake system they have wrote n/s/f/disc inbalance, the discs are nearly new and there is very little wear, could someone enlighten me as a am a bit perplexed.

Its quite likely to be a damaged handbrake cable, these work on the front wheels and are bent when the steering is turned, the outer cable can snap and cause the brake to become ineffective, whip the front wheels off and look at the cables, the are quite easy to replace and not expensive.

you might find its air in one caliper,as a partly siezed cable will cause the brake/s to binde,in which case the MOT tester should have picked up on it
