REQUEST: anti-sink valve

Post by bernie »

I've seen somewhere a diagram showing the innards of the valve.
Can anyone point me in that direction please?

Hi Bernie,
Try here:
http://www.citrotech.se/
exact link:
http://www.citrotech.se/data/pdf/xantia ... sc-mac.pdf
Those are scale drawings of the valves unfortunately everything is annoted in a non-english language, so you'll have to read between the lines to figure out which port goes where...
There is also a diagramatic view and explanation of the valve in the "Citroen guide" PDF (citguide.pdf) which is floating around. I was about to add a link to that file as well but it seems to have been removed from the site, (in fact the whole site is missing) but I have a copy if you can't find another download site...
Regards,
Simon

Yes Simon, I've got this little lot under my front wing

It heats up the water faster than the engine[:p]

Yowsers [:D]
Mine definately doesn't have that. Is that some kind of pre-heating system for snow-bound countries ? [:D]

No,
Not yet. Unfortunately the weather has been goddam awful lately. 3 days of almost non stop rain, so no chance to do any car work...
Wednesday will be my next chance if the weather fines up, but I also have an LHM change, and an Automatic gearbox oil change planned first, so we'll see how things go... [:D]

Apparently yes, very popular in Scandinavia.
It sounds like a blast furnace and runs on diesel.
After I've turning the engine off and walked away it's still roaring away, smoking out it's own exhaust pipe.
Bit of a shocker the first time that happened[:0][:0][:0]
