Can you solve this one?

The radio will only go off if there is an internal fault or wiring fault or the supply voltage drops too low. So that is either a short circuit somewhere, which would probably set the car alight if it was that bad, or the supply from the battery is too low. That could be all kinds from corroded terminals to lack of fluid in the battery but I'm going to go for an alternator fault. I reckon, seems how there were no warning lights, that the field supply to the alternator has failed. Still I suppose it could be anything from that small description of a general electrical fault.

The fault was caused by the live supply to the alternator breaking where it connected to the alternator. Therefore, the alternator wasn't working except sending just enough charge out to make the warning light not to light up. The car was running from battery power only. This caused the system to go haywire and reverse its polarity and the radio go off, ABS light to light up and rev counter needle to jump when indicating......
