Xantia estate suspension anti roll bar drop link

Post by Whitecrook »

Hi ,
My drivers side drop link that connects the anti roll bar to front strut The bottom ball joint has came apart.
Is it simply (ha!) a case of getting a new drop link + undoing the bolts at each end and replacing? (and doing both at the same time?)
Is it ok to use the car until the weekend or does this adversely affect the whole suspension setup (steering, brakes?)
GSF seem to have a few that my be for a '96 1.9td lx est. how can I tell which ones I need??
Cheers

It is as simple as you've described, they don't really need to be done in pairs unless the other one is knackered too.
I wouldn't be happy driving a Xantia with the front anti-roll bar disconnected, there is no inherent anti roll in the suspension at all (steel sprung cars have limited anti-roll without the anti-roll bar, hydraulic Citroens have NONE).

It took 5 mins to screw on the new part after removing the old bar which was a bit tricky... using the correct sized allen key may have helped..
I didn't notice any odd effects driving it in and out of town for a couple of days disconnected.
