Can anyone suggest where I look to find out what the problem is. Symptoms are:
On start up the front levels out OK but the rear doesn't rise.
On raising the lever to the second height position the rear eventually comes up.
Dropping to normal height the car then performs OK for a while but eventually drops to minimum as being driven.
On parking up and engine off the rear sinks to minimum.
It will raise to maximum inspection height when asked.
Any suggestions? Seems to be a height corrector or some other valve problem to me. It is a xantia estate, 1998 and has done 194000 so is getting on a bit.
