another lie in the BOL?

Post by oscarloco »

Hi
I've asked some time ago where was the knock sensor located in my car. It seemed that everybody agreed that there are no knock sensors in the 2.0 8 valve ZX.
But after reading my BOL (It finnaly arrived!!!), I was reading about the fuel injection system and it mentions a knock sensor in my car.
So, is this another lie of the BOL?

Oscar, I changed the knock sensor the other week on my 2.0 litre 8v activa.
I imagine yours has oneif it has basically the same engine minus turbo!
Look down at the front of the engine above the filter to the right and its like a small mushroom shaped sensor with a bolt in the middle with a cable leading of it to a connector
Hope that helps you out

The 2.0 8v (non turbo) Xantia had a knock sensor. The smaller engines did not. So I would assume the ZX would also have one.
Then again, never assume anything with French cars.
