Please could someone tell me at what temperature the radiator cooling fan should kick in on my M reg xantia 1.8i, I left the engine running and the fan didn't kick in until the temperature gauge reached 105

Rule no 1 : dont ever touch the cooling system with a hot engine.
Now you're ready to do some testing [:)]
You could have an airlock. Try brim the headet tank (from cold - as pr rule 1 - agree ?). Then let engine idle until fan comes on.
If your Xantia does not have a header tank - use a homemade one. Instructions are found in the Hints forum.
