Hi,
Just had a look at one, and noticed the following:
1. Rusty patches in front of the front suspension mounts, I think if prodded will perforate. Easy welding job.
2. Sat on the opened boot edge (about 11 stone), and the back hardly moved, released the hand brake, checked again, and it went down about 25mm, and was very stiff.
Looked at the rear wheels, and some inner lean noticed, / \ , tyres not touching the inner wings though..
What is involved in doing a DIY repair, are all the parts available, or is it a replacement beam about £280 + Delivery..
Cheers

Both points have been covered on this siet - welding of the strut mount isn't difficult. The axle beam is not common DIY but may be possible. There are specialists who will fit an overhauled one while you wait.
