Xantia throttle sensor

Post by JohnS »

I have just taken my 1997 1.9 TD in to have the air con checked out. The compressor clutch was not kicking in. They said that the "wide opening" throttle sensor was not working properly and this was involved in sending signls via the ECU to the clutch.
Has anyone had any experiences of this and just where is the throttle sensor and what does it look like?

The throttle sensor is on top of the fuel pump, on the arm which the throttle cable connects to. It is black and has a few wires coming off it. As far as I know its just a variable resisitor so you can probably test it with a multimeter.
