130k TD to a 25k 1.8i 16v

Post by poppy »

got tired of the old td taking 30 seconds to pick up and get going when under 2200 rpm.....dangerous for the missus at busy junctions when flooring it and praying was the only option[ great at M1 speeds thou]
got me a 25k t reg 1.8i 16v....the response is better[not a tyre squealer thou]...and she wants to go on and on at 80+ speeds
i know it will cost more at the pumps, but im well pleased with the change......modern traffic conditions mean you have to have some low rev pick up ,and the td just didnt have it....scary sometimes when you mis-judge the bugger on the main road!!
no key pad too !! heaven !!
any members know of a good citroen mechanic/bloke near leicester/coventry?... ive tried allfours in leicester [0/10]

I have to Agree with Peter.N My Zx TD Pulls away Fine, She really picks up quite quickly even below 2200rpm.
Any how hope you enjoy your new car.

yes, my 1.9TD was seriously quicker off the mark than the 2.1 until I chipped it!

Should have spent £100ish and got someone to tune the fuel pump and turbo boost. Mine was pretty quick, but even better now :) but with diesel fuel economy

"Scalded cat" is a pretty good description of how all the TDs I have known when taking off... The 1769 TD in an old 205 STDT I had was liviler than my GTi when the turbo spooled up..
