Activa Exhaust

Post by activa »

I need an expert's advice!
I have tuned my Activa (2.0 Turbo) with a Superchip and so far it goes great. I think of replacing the factory's exhaust pipe (after the first part leaving the engine) and the catalyst with a larger diameter pipe and an Americat catalyst.
Do you think it would create any problems or engine faults?
Any suggestions, comments, ideas etc. would be appreciated...
Thanks in advance.

Has the chip boosted the turbo output? If not play around with the activator to get a little more boost. It will probably go to about 9 psi before the actuator is overcome.

How do you play around with the activator?
Is that the wastegate arm rod that you screw in more?

Easier than that is to fit a Manual boost Controller (MBC). These are very cheap and easy to fit and save any messing about about with the turbo parts. I have one on my Activa and have increased boost up to about 14psi (0.95bar) and the difference is astonishing.

The boost of the turbo is increased electronically (by the car's CPU, and eventually the new chip) and it goes up to 1 bar at maximum throttle.
So, the turbo output is increased.
The thing is, do i need to put on a larger exhaust or not? (hand-made because original is hard to find)

Ok fair enough. I am after a custom de-cat pipe for my car as it should increase mid-range torque quite considerably.
If you are keeping a cat, there should be no problems.

Macaroni,
Could you post details here about how to get hold of the MBC.
Is this fitted in conjunction with the chip or as a separate modification?
When you say the difference is astonishing .
How astonishing?
