Coolant Mayo
When I was playin round with my BX14 today I found creamy sludge on the underside of the radiator cap, is this anything to worry about? Did immediatly check the oil filler cap and all seemed fine there..thinking of popping it to garage for compression test. Thanks in advance. Owen.

Check your thermostat. Could be the oil from the wax cylinder in thermostat.
From cold with engine idle :
With your hand keep a feeling of the engine temperature on the large tophose to the radiator - closest to the radiator.
The water should keep the tophose cool for lengthy time - then abruptly increase in temperature when thermostat correctly opens at engine work temperature.
A few minutes later the cooling fan should cut-in at 1.st stage.
If the tophose temp raises sloooowly all the time - almost forever - the thermostat is defective (stuck open).
