Xantia and CD player

Post by soupy_sam »

I want to install a CD player in my Xantia, what do I need to make the steering controls work on it and where do I buy one from?

If you go Halfrauds, they will advise which of the current CD players will work with the steering-wheel controls. Some good offers on at the mo, too!

If the head unit has the CD button then you will be able to fit an autochanger.
You will need to know which make of radio you have (Clarion or Blaupunkt?).

Halfords was a total con, wanted £269 for a CD and an extra £50 for a controller

I got a Sony CD and MP3 player £99, then bought the adapter lead and Xantia fascia cover from www.autoleads.co.uk (specific lead for Xantia and Sony unit) £35. Easy to fit. Just remember to get a head unit with a remote jack at the back for the steering wheel controls. They make leads and fascias for other brands of head units too. Cheaper than Halfords.
