hdi fuel filter

Post by meexi »

Hi,
Does anyone know how to replace the fuel filter in my xantia?
all i can see is the filter holder with a plastic top that has a nut moulded in to it, Do you turn the nut clockwise or anti-clockwise and is the system self bleeding

Put a socket on it and turn anti-clockwise. Use the hand primer to refill after the new filter is in.

Be prepared to shell out for a new filter housing too - they aint that durable and often fail to seal propperly again.

Do you take the two pipes off and only turn it a little bit or do you have to unscrew it?

its a quarter turn anticlockwise, take the pipes off first.change the seals, they should come with the filter.the system is self bleeding, there is no hand primer as there is an electric pump in the tank.

Unless you have the Siemens system, in which case you will have a hand pump!
