Many will have experienced the membrane coming off the back door of xantia estates causing it to leak..
the question is what kind of adhesive should be used to stick the damn thing back on?

Hi Matt,
At a rough guess; how about using a bead of clear silicone sealant. I once used it for this purpose as it allows the membrane to peel off easy in the future if ever you need to remove it. Failing that, have a look in a good accessory shop as they usually stock sealants/adhesives for every job imaginable.
Regards, Rich.

Hi Matt,
Hmmm, sounds like a tricky one!! This may sound strange, but how about trying a different approach; if you have a flat surface to bond to, (i'm not sure because my Xantia is a hatch) how about trying to tape the edges with that proper "Duct Tape" as it is mega sticky and quite wide and sticks well but it comes off dead easy when you want it to. How about asking a Citroen dealer what they use?
Let us know how you get on! Regards, Rich.

Hi Matt!
HA HA!! That must be the same dealer that told me, "....we don't list a separate relay for the headlamp washers sir......." when i tried to buy a relay that's missing from my Xantia. Anyway, that's a long story!!! Well, i don't know what to suggest now. How about that stuff called "Seelastik" or i think that is what it's called, it's quite messy but it might do the job. Anyone else any ideas???

Been here before - the only stuff I found that will stay stuck is called 'bolted panel sealer', comes in a roll 2mm X 20mm, and stays tacky regardless. Seal it down using a wallpaper seam roller.. It's quite expensive (tenner?)- but did the job - having failed with everything else I tried.
My rear seatwells are still dry!
