Nothing wrong

Post by caeclyd »

For a change I am posting when there is nothing wrong !
I bought a Silver 98 Xantia td estate 2 weeks ago with 120000 on the clock (low mileage considering my 95 1.9d had 213000 when I sold it).
One thing that I have noticed with the estate is the handling! I am able to throw the cars around corners and it takes them in its stride. I also have a Golf gttdi pd 130 with sports suspension and I would say that the Cit would not be far behind in a race.
I have just renewed the pads today and replaced the ns drop arm. At the moment the car is going well. Here's to another 100000 !

2.1 or Hdi? If the 2.1 you can have lots more fun (AND better economy) by fitting a Tunit chip.

Bxbodger,
No its just the 1.9 td. It was not the performance of the engine that I was impressed with its just the handling around corners. My previous Xantia was like a boat. This thing just chews up the corners without any drifting. I am not a boy racer and I always think....SCRUBBING TYRES £££ when I drive quickly[V]

Is it a VSX or Exclusive, and therefore fitted with Hydractive suspension? If not, it may just be that the estate uses firmer spheres and roll bars. Or maybe the suspension on your old motor was goosed at 200k+!!
