hummm...so how do you take the steering wheel off? I am used to old-fashioned steering wheels that have a nut in the middle (no airbag)...

The steering wheel has a nut in the usual way.
Put steering wheel at 90 degree left angle.
Disconnect battery and wait for about 10 minutes to discharge airbag back-up battery.
Loosen 4 bolts holding airbag to steering wheel from behind.
That's why the steering wheel has to be at 90 degree angle.
Undo rotating electric connector..see first...very simple.
Loosen steering wheel nut a few turns.
Twist wheel left-to-right to loosen from splines.
Remove nut and wheel.
Do not overtighten at reassembly.
When the nut is fully down, it's enough, it won't escape.
