Anti-sink (XM) the way I think it works, comments?

Post by Niek »

I'm very confused about the spheres on s2 Xm's. I have a hydractive
so it's 1 acc. sphere in the engine bay, 2 for the front wheels, 1
front center (hydractive), 2 for the rear wheels, 1 rear center
(hydractive) and one extra one in the rear (anti sink). Am I right?
Another thing that concerns me is the functioning of the anti-sink.
As far as I understand it now, the rear sink is prevented by the
extra sphere and the rear suspension is cut off from the rest of the
system by a non-electric valve (closes when remaining pressure of the
acc. sphere is lower than the suspension itself), the front is only
prevented from sinking by the valve (one of it's own) but has no
extra sphere.
How am I doing?
Once I've figured this out, the question will be (giving everyone a
headstart in contemplating how to answer it) what to do when the anti-
sink does work on the rear (good extra sphere and good valve I guess) but not on the front (bad valve??, if so what to do?)
Niek. (I can't stand not understanding it)

Check out Zeljko's description on:

The link to Tramontana is very good. The author should open a Cit servicing network in the UK, he appears to have some (!?) knowledge of Citroens (!!). Assuming he is based in Hungary (?), will his service costs justify the round trip to Eastern Europe?
