Xantia Aircon

My xantia aircon is playing up, the radiator fans dont come on when the aircon's on and the dreaded red stop light flashes. After 5 mins the rad fans kick in full speed and the stop light goes out.
Think it could be the bitron unit, any ideas on this anyone.

People on here seem to mention the Bitron unit quite often. I have a similar problem with my Xsara hdi...The red Stop light comes on (with or without aircon - which works fine) & then the fan powers up at full speed. I have just posted a question about it, but don't know what the answer is yet. Do you have any ideas?

I had a very similar problem with my Xsara (as you'll see if you read my other posts). It turned out to be something very simple; the coolant sensor. This is quite a cheap little thing to buy (around £20) and really easy to fit. I think (though I'm not sure how Xantias work) you then have to get the ECU reset, as it memorises all the faults it logs.
