Slit them with a Stanley,do whatever you have to- without using excessive force or damaging anything,of course.These pipes do tend to age harden,so getting the new ones on will be far less of a challenge.Sorry,got no idea about bore diam. of the filter to pump pipe.

Heres a handy bodge: if one splits on the road and you don't have any spare, cut a chunk out of the screenwasher pipe and push that on-it fits and it'll get you home, and it lasts long enough for you to get the proper pipe.
