Xantia Radio Code

Post by ljaw2002uk »

Hi,
I bought a xantia yesterday, but I had to change the battery when I bought it. I have the radio code, but I dont know how to enter it. I just typed in the code and its just sitting there on the LCD three big numers and 1 little number. I have tried disconnectimg the battery over night but the code is still on the radio. Any ideas?

Use the preset buttons 1 to 6. Turn the radio on. Display will read 'code in'. Enter the code number, using the first digit for Number 1, pressing each button the correct number of times. If a wrong number is entered the display will read ------- and the system will be blocked. To unblock, press 'BND' until 'code in' appears. If four incorrect attempts are made the system will be blocked for one hour.

As far as I remember, once the correct code is entered, 'CITROEN' should appear on the display for a short time, then automatically set itself on the FM band. Instructions for 1998 models - maybe earlier ones are slightly different.

Ok the format of the stereo is such that you just press button 1 for 1 button 2 for 2 etc... rather than press 1 x 3 to get three.
The car is a 96? M? LX. Original factory fitted stereo. This is bugging the hell out of me. I went through this with my last Xantia, and never solved it. [V] Thanks for tryin tho.

Sounds similar to the N-reg AX we have, and off the top of my head i dont remember how you input it, i think it's either a push of the volume button or maybe a press and hold of the MAN button. It bugs me everytime i come to do it, but i DO have the instructions written down at my parents. I'll have a look on Wednesday, but once the code is entered just try pressing buttons and see if it goes in :D

<font color="blue"><font size="2"><font face="Comic Sans MS"><b>Hi,
When I did code on my radio, starting out with the 4 - - - -.
Just suppose code is 4735. I pushed button (1), 4 times, button (2), 7 times, button (3) 3 times, button (4) 5 times. Then pushed button 6 to validate info. A working radio .
Hope this helps
Greg
Ps My Radio is Citroen 4030 RDS. Made by Blaupunkt It has NO button marked BAND.
There is a 3030 RDS radio
Only the 2030 has a BAND button. The 4030 RDS comes as a standalone radio unit, and also as a radio unit with a CD.
I am sitting here with genuine Citroen radio booklet in front of me, copying this out, lol.

Acording to my manual, for the 2030 non RDS radio,"swicth on,display reads CODE.If your code is 3241,press buttons 3 2 4 1 in turn, verifiying the numbers appear on the display. If the correct numbers are entered, the unit will work."
For the 3030 & 4030 RDS units,"Turn unit on,display reads CODE.Enter code using preset buttons 1-4.Press button 1 repeatedly untill correct number is displayed, then use buttons 2,3,& 4 in the same way untill the correct code is displayed. Then press button 6 to ener the code."

I didn`t see your posts, otherwise I wouldn`t have added the second.[:D]

Ps. I would have thought my car would have been more economical, after changing that leaking inlet manifold gasket. But not much better---circa 25-28, .seeing as I don`t hammer the thing . Time to look for a tidy diesel I think.
