XANTIA TAILGATE

Post by ACTIVE8 »

I noticed this tailgate was up for sale on ebay.
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 15591&rd=1
The tailgate is described as heavy.
What is the tailgate made of?
I ask this, because when I went away recently to Europe, the other half bought a G.B. sign for the rear of the car. This could not be used, because it's magnetic. So what is the tailgate made of ?
I take it the weight the seller is referring to is mostly in the glass, because the tailgate is made of a different material to be lighter than a steel one.
Also I assume the weight that the seller is talking about must be mainly in the glass.

They're still pretty heavy even so, its more noticeable when opening the tailgate on cars where the tailgate struts have packed up. Lighter than steel, but still heavy to lift/carry when its off the car.
