What's the problem with your Matiz pet ?
Most memebers here have a wide car DIY knowledge reaching way beyond just Citroen's [:)]

From here: http://www.honestjohn.co.uk/index.php?u ... /index.htm
796cc 50 bhp 3-cylinder engine not quite up to motorway travel. Rolled over on high-speed reverse-turn by Autocar magazine. Trim quality not brilliant. Terrible Neil Lyndon road test report in Sunday Telegraph on 4/10/98 (though Neil later had second thoughts about the car and gave it the thumbs up for what it is). Joint fourth bottom in 2002 Which reliability survey of cars up to 2 years old; 83 cars surveyed. CO2 output not brilliant at 161 for 800 and 158 for 1.0 litre, means VED for both is £120pa rather than £70pa of new Daihatsu Charade. Spate of rusty hatchbacks and no replacements available led Daewoo to scrap some early Matiz models and compensate owners under the perforation warranty. Despite one reader's 92k miles and 5 years, they don't generally seem to last much longer than 3 years or so without starting to cost an unjustifiable amout in repairs.[:0] Used values now slipping.
What to Watch Out For
Proper Daewoo/Halfords service history. Collapse of servicing network may have lead to service gap in 2002. Timing belt and tensioner pulley replacement at 40k miles or 4 years whichever comes first is critical. Check hatchback for rust, particularly if buying privately or at auction 'without warranty'. Alternators known to fail.
Any good to you?

You really dont want one of these, underpowered is an undersatement!, they are not a good car, makes a pre-vag skoda look like a rolls royce
My friend owned one for just under a week before returning it to the garage he bought it from under their 30 day no quibble warranty, apparently it was the 3rd time the garage had that particular car back under their no quibble 30 day scheme !

I`m sure most of you will have noticed that Daewoo is now Chevrolet ,so it seems they have bought a lemon, from what you are all saying.

Hi Basil
My mum bought a 3 year old Matiz 18 months ago.
It had FSH and 32000 miles.
Model is SE+ 800cc 3 cyl. with ABS, AC ,PAS,2 airbags, Alloys , E/F/windows and C/L
I did the service on it 6 months ago, no real hassle.
I changed the original r/c for a cd/tuner
They drive fine and we have had no problems.
Plenty of room inside, more like a mini MPV then hatchback but easy to park
Bit buzzy on the motorway but 5th gear helps
Fun taking corners fast.
Front windscreen is huge so I'll say A/c is a must.
