Xantia TD rough when starting

My Xantia 1.9TD sounds rough when first started it sounds like it is missing also there is a lot of White/Grey smoke after about a minute all is well and she is running great Any Ideas?

AT least one glowplug has given up the ghost, by the sounds of it (probably the one behind the fuel pump). Get some Beru ones from GSF, as there have been less than complimentary reports about "other" makes, given the TD ones have a hard life.

sounds like some of your glowplugs have failed. Can check with a meter - disconnect each in turn and check for continuity - should be minimal resistance.
If you search you will find someone who suggests they can all be checked in one go, and also numerous descriptions on changeing the end one which is difficult.
Be careful and make sure you screw them in well by hand before tightening to avoid crossing the threads.
