Citroen Servicing

Post by GrahamD »

As someone with a HDI C5 that is just ending its warrantee period and feeling "ripped-off" with main dealer service charges. Does anyone have knowledge of a good Citroen garage in the Oxford / Reading / Thames Valley area, that knows what its doing, but does'nt require a bank loan to use?
Regards

well there is quite a (boring) tale to this, but when i was young and got my first car (citroen visa special) a mechanic was recommended to me by someone as work as a real citroen enthusiast. So i got my car serviced/repaired by this guy who was really good and really cheap for a couple of years (the sort of guy that when i limped in with a ****ged alternator one day bodged on a totally different alternator to keep me going for a couple of days whilst he sourced me a correct one) then i moved up to london and started using someone else.
i recently moved back to kent and i was looking for someone to do some work on my car and going through yellow pages i found my old mechanic there.
he has done well for himself...owns a big garage now but he is still the same keen citroen enthusiast. So i entrusted him with my xantia estate and he put a new clutch and cable in, fixed a lhm leak and changed the lhm, changed the thermostat and coolant, changed three spheres, changed the auxilliary drivebelt, and fixed the drivers door that was starting to look like it might fall of. cost me just under £700 which seems cheap to me.
Anyway if you want to get hold of him his name is
