Where is the knock sensor on a ZX?
Some time ago, someone mentioned a performance increase just by cleaning the contacts in knock sensor. I suspect mine has a faulty line, sometimes it feels very responsive and sometimes it has some lag before responding. My ZX is a '94 2.0 8 valve petrol.
The knock sensor does not work that way. You may remove the knock sensor and never feel anything on the engine performance.
The knock sensor is fitted to lag the ignition somewhat under certain engine conditions, and this is decided by the ECU.
In fact you may never feel anything if the sensor contact or cable has failed.
I'm not sure if this engine have a knock sensor at all ?
