citroen zx1.4i reflex stalling

Post by SGarvey »

My citroen zx keeps stalling on initial startup and then a couple of times in the next few minutes. After a good revving or a few mins driving the problem dissapears until i come to start it again.Aceleration is normal but will sometimes hesitate.
Injector is clean. It's had a service recently.I have noticed my ignition leads are in a poor state of repair and got some on order anyway. Any ideas would be most welcome.

Checked the plugs for oil fouling? Check all air ways/ breather pipes and clean. This time of year some short journeys can lead to salad cream like stuff bunging them up.

I'm sure we've been here before, but the 1.4i ZX has no MAP sensor!
I would get the idle stepper motor checked out - it can cause those symptoms if its getting a bit slow.

looks like my zx has a map sensor. Ive got a small black thingy!!
situated along the left hand side of the engine compartment with a rubber hose going into the throttle body and a electrical connection going to it as well. Is this the MAP sensor?
