Programming a ZX Radio

Post by ndaisley »

People on this forum have been very kind and responsive to my daft questions so far - here's another one.
Can anyone explain how to program the presets on this radio, which seems to be a standard one on the ZX?

I have succeeded by accident in programming Radio4 onto button 4, which made me very happy, but have not managed to do any others. I think I did some sequence of pressing the PS button (top right) and the lower half of the number button once I had hit on the station, but it only worked once.
Forgive me, I'm a computer network specialist so can't really cope too well with technology....

I think its the standard press the button and hold it till the radio station can be heard. ie tune to the frequency you want then press and hold the prset you want to tune it and wait until the sattion can be heard and it should be preset. hope this helps

Thanks for the message, but it doesn't seem to do that - hence my experimenting with other buttons. Sould just be that the electronics are broken of course. Any idea what the PS button is really supposed to do?

I remember this old head unit form my ZX. It should be tune in your station and then pres the button you want it to be at Radio 1 (rubbish) on 1 and so on. You need to wait for a 'tone ' to beep, as that when it's set. I think that you have to make sure the local radio station guide isn't on as this will tune all the "local stations" in. Unles you like radio local?
