Buying a C5 2.0HDi

Post by andrewhall »

Soon to look at a 2002 C5 HDi SX - Ex Company Car 90K on clock with full service history. This is to replace my trusty 1997 Xantia 1.9TD that has now reached 225K but is still going stong. Does anyone out there have any advice on what to look for on the C5 - Known problems e.t.c. Thanks Andrew

Just check that the car had all the factory recalls done.
Basically, that's all the most important stuff.

Is it the 90 or 110BHP? The latter tend to be a bit heavy on clutches and have a dual mass flywheel which usually needs to be changed at same time as clutch, very expensive!

All the HDI SX are the 110. Jon, tell me more about the clutch and the flywheel?
I suspect I have a problem with one or the other! (I'll start a new topic)
