could anybody please tell me a step to step guide on how to change the intercooler on a 1999 synergie 2.0 hdi ? also what fluid goes through the intercooler?? many thanks

hi there... can't help on the step by step i'm afraid, although I can tell you that it is just air that goes through the intercooler: once the turbocharger has compressed the air, it then loses density through being heated, so to cool the compressed air and regain the density (and efficiency), the air passes through the intercooler on the way back to the engine. Its almost like getting something for nothing. I'm sure another seasoned poster can give a better and more informed description, but to summarise, using a turbo without an intercooler gives a very poor increase in engine performance.
