Gear box Judder.....???

Post by tboy113 »

Guys, can you help my Xantia 1.9TD(r) has got the judders at mid revs.
When i excelerate at low ish revs the gear stick & brake peddle judder. this goes away as i reach about 3k rpm.
Thought it was the clutch but it doesnt do it when i 1st start off and lift the clutch, only when you reach about 2k -3k rpm.
I have has a similar problem like this before in a renault and it was an engine mount with too much play in it.
Any ideas guys?

Check that the driveshafts are sitting square and rotate without any eccentricity.

As has been suggested, engine mounts and driveshafts but the problem can also appear if the suspension is set too high as the angle of the driveshafts alters and can sometimes create this sensation.
Have you altered the height or noticed a change in ride height recently?
