Hose with no end!

Post by anno888 »

Hi all,
I am going to have to explain this as best I can as my camera is bst so bare with me.
Basically, I have hose which is disconnected at one end but I cant find where it goes. It run from a long black cylinder just behind and to the right of the radiator. At the top of this cylinder there is a hose that goes off to the right (in to the FLH wing) and a hose that goes off to the left towards the air filter and spark plugs. It ends just infront and to the left of the air filter cover.
Any ideas?????
Cheers.

Having driven nothing but diesels for the past twentyfive years my knowledge level of petrols is just a shade above nil. I think the canister you are referring to is the emisiion charcoal canister. If so, I would imagine that the loose end pipe should lead into the induction system. Look around the air filter box to see if there is a spare nozzle.

yeah, sounds like the pipe for the charcoal cannister, the connection that it goes onto should be on the inlet manifold/throttle housing.
