Sounds a little heavy - a friend with a '97 1.8 break gets around 0.75 l/km as average and he's always carrying most of the family (5 pers) around in it.

I agree with NiSK`s figure (apart from the decimal point!) -
you should average 7.8 l/100 km = 36 miles per gallon = 12.8 km/l.
(official figures)
I have the same model estate and I average 35-37 mpg.which I think is a bit thirsty for a "modern" 1.8[:(]

Much depends on your driving style- do you have a heavy right foot and/or regularly lug a lot of weight around in it, have the windows open? do you like to drive it in a sporting manner, do a lot of accelerating and late braking or are you dainty on the gas pedal?? - it all makes a difference!

Oops! got mixed up between per km and per 10km (which is the stupid distance the scandiavians use when measuring fuel consumption)(!?) - honest, ask Anders DK - he'll tell you its true!

Of course ,official "average" fuel consumption figures always assume an "average" driving style!

Not citroen related but I just filled up my Supra which I bought couple of weeks back. I mainly drive stop start on main road at school run time and its a 3 litre auto. 15.2mpg, yes fifteen point two lol :DDD still at least its comfortable HEH! book figure for urban is 20 so maybe I can get 18 or so when schools break up for xmas!
I like the current petrol price war however due to morrisons (asda) dropping prices by 4p/litre, that coupled with 5p/litre off sainsburys token meant I paid 74.8p/litre at lunchtime for my unleaded
