Only tip I can give is doing a speedo cable on a '93,106D, which was fairly straight forward. On the small Pug, my dealer advised fitting a 405 cable as they have exactly the same fittings but is slightly longer making it easier to navigate through the dashboard. The extra length also makes fitting to the back of the speedo easier. I would assume AX would be the same as 106 in this respect.

Sounds like a real good tip bikeboyz [8D]
In that case a BX or ZX cable would do it - or even the mentioned 405 one - depends on the fittings.
