Right - I've done everything I could but it's no better. Squeal is tolerable for the first few minutes of driving then turns nasty volume wise and squeals pretty much non stop as soon as the pedal is touched. And it develops two different pitches/frequencies...
I'm taking it to a shop....

Did you change the pads? Or clean the discs?
Make sure the shop knows how to bleed the rear brakes on the GS/A!

Brakes on my 307 stopped squealing when I replaced the discs that looked like they had been at the bottom of the sea for a couple of months! No doubt this needs new discs (or, if there's enough thickness, a skim, as GS discs are probably not on the shelf anymore!)

the discs look pretty tidy - haven't measured the thickness, I don't think I could get a vernier in with the stone guard left in. sounds like it could get a bit more expensive...

The shop replaced the pads and it's quiet as a ninja (well, I could still hear a faint amount, coming downhill, guessing that may have something to do with even less braking force on the rear - but it's way more tolerable)
Apparently they were original pads (doesn't surprise me)
