What's the old one: SEV or Ducellier?

I know I don't have a whole one for a 1299cc (G13/625)

Notes say:
SEV Marchal 41301502, A401, GA8, GD4, 24, 2500,
Ducellier 525073(C), GA8, GD4, 24, 2500

There's a possibility I might have a GD4 vacuum advance wotsit.

Having Googled the number I put at the top, it appears these have a physically different vacuum casing, that clips in one side and screws in the other (Rather than screws both sides to the body).

Next question. Is the vacuum capsule definitely shot? I ask because I've just read over on a R4 forum http://www.renault4.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=3507" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and Googled some pictures (and found my very own :oops: )

There's a tiny hole in the can, and it needs covering before doing a test....

If diaphragm has gone and mega urgent, there is always the option of carefully de-swaging the capsule and replacing the diaphragm with a portion of chopped up bicycle inner tube....

I'll find that link again later.

or just pull the pipe off the capsule and plug the pipe, it wont make a lot of difference to how it runs

@Malcolm

I think the 4451A is the body part number or something. 525 073 is the number given to the whole thing.

e.g.

As you can see from the pic, 4431A is to the right. The GD4, GD1 is the mechanical advance curve spec followed by the vacuum advance spec.

But I think the 4451A has a physically different vacuum can attachment of clip over one side, screw in body the other, rather than two screws like the one I posted previously.
