citroen used to say the 1300 GS/A with a 5 speed box was capable of 110, i have heard of them doing over that

I'm sure a 5 speed GSA could do over 100mph. As a teenager I remember my Dad's 1220 4 speed GS reaching 100mph on the flat, (not with me driving! :lol: ) took a while to get there and just past the red line as well but it could do it. :-D official figures for the 4 speed 1220 were 90mph from memory.

I remember getting an indicated 105 out of the X1.....

I wonder how accurate the GS speedo is :lol:

Still, they are hugely impressive cars.

A friend's dad was a Citroen dealer when I was at college,. My friend drove a GSA. It would do over a ton, regularly and quite happily. Those flat-4s rev really very well. I think his was a V-reg one, not sure what model. Satellite controls, weird speedo. Great car.
