Re: Xantia Mk2 V6 Strip down
Both WFA vehicles are fuelled and ready to go with a selection of tools in the boot (no jokes please)
We're both on target for 9am and hopefully the engine will be out soon afterwards

Might I suggest you bring a mug rather than Magnesium, much better for you.
And you're not having anything from Birmingham either before you start that

Re: Xantia Mk2 V6 Strip down
Team WFA has left the building!
Just got the exhaust centre, cat and downpipe out quickly and some connectors and fuses and relays.
The radio connector with cd changer connector had gone though so will need to get a within diagram to work out how I can get 12v to the changer to get the CDs out as it was built into the rest of the loom for the rear
Car supports are now being moves back slowly to allow the car to pivot and I'll then weigh the front down to get at the rear bits.
One door is gone as well as the sunroof pack, engine, gearbox, alloys, interior, condenser , driveshafts...
Further update once I've had some grub and a rest as i tried to lift the car before the pivot was in the right place and that drained me a bit as well so quick rest then final sprint to get hits separated and try and work out how to get it off the drive!!

Re: Xantia Mk2 V6 Strip down
Hopefully the coil pack was safely liberated before the engine fell into the clutches of Team WFA

Re: Xantia Mk2 V6 Strip down
It has It is perfectly safe Simon and not in the clutches of any member of Team WFA... As far as I know...Mandrake wrote:Hopefully the coil pack was safely liberated before the engine fell into the clutches of Team WFA
The Team WFA raiding party was most successful Thanks Will for your hospitality today and apologies to your neighbours for having to put up with us..
First time I've seen an ES9J4 engine and gearbox removed with the help of an angle grinder!!!
There's precious little of the car left now...
I seem to have returned with more than I intended... The XM is pretty well stacked out.. Most of it's engine crane though to be fair...

Re: Xantia Mk2 V6 Strip down
Well I'm shattered now so time to call it a night and soak in a bath and then get an angle grinder to help with the last bits over the next night or two
