Indeed I can confirm the route will be just perfect for what we are looking for - many thanks to Jim for his hard work compiling the route... =D>

Looking around the net Paul they've got 9 engines including one Steam 1366 Class Loco, two Class 08 locos, one Class 17 loco, one Class 31, one Class 37, a Ruston & Hornsby IRIS, one Class 121 Bubblecar (what our trip out is on) and an electric Class 411.

It's set to be a fab day... 8-)

Oooo I LOVE those Class 37 / 40 pulling out of stations.. Those V12 Turbo, 1,750bhp engines have a superb noise!

LOL Steve..

I secret passion of mine... Nothing like a good deep roar from a V12 DERV engine.. I guess you still see the odd one passing through, or even retching Electric ones...

It is one of mine too. I tend not to speak of it very much. I just love big diesels, the bigger the better and on noises you just can't beat the sound of the old HST (Class 43) V12 Paxman Valenta starting off from a station - the turbo whine was pure music. They've all been re-engined now and they just don't sound as good. All the engine character has gone...

37116 is there at the railway Paul and hopefully we'll be able to see it. Love to hear it running as well... I did see it today on my visit.

Just for you Paul, here's a Class 37 starting up on a cold day. I think it needs new glowplugs...

Steve, I know what you mean, for you going to a railway is the same as me going to Bletchley Park. They have stuff in the museum I used to repair, operate and maintain. Seems not so long ago either...

Yeah, she'll be there, there was a momentary re-planning this after after something came up with the C6 for Monday, but that was a false hope, so back in the Xantia.

Franklin, Jim, or anyone that knows,

Is this the address of the steam railway, where the convoy drive ends?
CHINNOR STATION
Station Approach, Station Road,
Chinnor, Oxfordshire, OX39 4ER
http://www.chinnorrailway.co.uk/map

I ask as I may be unable to get to Lottle Horwood for the 12pm departure of the convoy.
I'd still like to experience the train, so could drive directly there, then join the convoy back to Little Horwood.
Cheers.

That's the one Shaun, and that's not problem.

A bit of parking info for you - an excerpt from Jim's instructions...
Follow the black and white C & PRR Car Park sign and then park in the car park. Don't worry if the first bit is full as it's 'L' shaped and enormous. You should find a park toward the back of it with no difficulty. If you find yourself in another awful Wimpey housing estate then you've gone too far...

I reckon the convoy will get there for around 12:45 - 1:00ish...
