Well what a weekend...! :D

Great to see everyone again and just a shame that it went so quickly. Absolutely knackered though, although definitely worth it - certainly for me the visit to the Chinnor and Princes Risborough railway totally exceeded my expectations and was simply amazing. Fantastic. Certainly great thanks to Claire once again, and Jim for the route too.

In one way, the railway visit could have simply been a group meet-up in itself, never mind the rest of the rally...

A few showers of rain over the weekend however that didn't matter at all, still a great weekend with great company. Numbers were down from last year, however I reckon that if we didn't have weather forecasts there would have been a lot more there! For the majority of the weekend the sun was out with bright blue skies.

Highlights? Well the railway was ace - the ride in the twin AEC engined Bubble Car and walk around of the Class 37 whilst running was fantastic. Operating the twin tone horn was 'quite' good too...! :D Also many thanks to Robert for allowing me to take his new C5 for a spin - a lovely, lovely car. 8-)

Pictures and also videos (mainly of the Class 37) to follow but there's over 600, so will have to work through them at some point...

If you couldn't make it, unfortunately you missed a cracker...
BW wrote:Really looking forward to another day at the rally today. The trip to the railway was outstanding, really well organised and we were certainly treated very well when there, some unique opportunities for train fans.
Congratulations with the Xantia 1st Prize - lovely car you've got there... =D>

I fell asleep in the car outside the house! I often sit there for 10mins listening to the radio if I'm earlier than Sam's usual wake-up time.

I had a great kip, I slept until about 4:30pm in the end. Many, many thanks for the delivery, it'll help me out a great deal and give me something to do this week.

I hope you found it ok. I realised as I left for work there's always usually a Citroen parked outside, but as the C5 is at the garage, and the Berlingo is being used by me.. then no, there isn't...

Yes, it was a great weekend. The trip to Chinnor and crawling inside the Class 37 with its engine running would have been worth the trip down from home in itself! :-D

My GSA (AFK 968Y blue Pallas) was at least joined by another one so wasn't entirely alone.

Jim's carrot cake tasted as good as mine, which has been perfected over many years so it takes about fifteen minutes to get ready for the oven. I always get one ready to take to such events and forget, so it dons a nice fluffy green coat by the time we get home.

Back on topic, we met many great folk who are probably on here, but cannot equate them with forum names - shame.

The Shoulder of Mutton meals are always excellent as well - bacon as I like it (if it falls on the floor and doesn't smash it's not cooked.)

Mike, it was really good to see you and thanks for the carrot cake complements :-D

James, many thanks for dropping off the package :-D

It certainly was a jolly good rally and I rather enjoyed the walk through the idling Class 37. I enjoyed it even more when it was revved up and moved :P Idle speed is 630rpm and normal running speed for its engine is 900rpm.

Only managed to get there for a couple of hours on Sunday but well worth the trip although as usual didn't get to see as many members as I had hoped.
Enjoyed meeting up with those I did manage and thanks to James for the tweezers :)
Not a bad turnout considering the weather prospects - we had torrential rain and heavy flooding here on Friday - cars washed into the sea just south of here.

C5 went well and managed 699.99 miles on one tank although there was still 7 Litres left when I did finally bite the bullet and fill it up again.
