I was wondering if anyone would like to have a little GTG somewhere in North Essex/South Suffolk to cater for East Anglians from Essex, Suffolk, Norfolk and Cambs?
Obviously, the list isn't exhaustive, everyone's welcome... Just thought it'd be an idea with the summer coming and the allure of grub and good conversation always a winner?
Stu.

...you've just missed the East Midlands Group of the Citroen Car Club's meeting at Burghley House last weekend! Link.
The next meet of the East Midlands Group is more of a 'formal' show at Springfields, Spalding where we've got 25 spaces booked on 1st May - the next on the 5th June where we are having a scenic run from Peterborough across to Wells Next The Sea whereby each person gets a routebook and you have to following the 'tulip' style instructions - similar to this.
There is also a plan in place to take part on the Wisbech Historic Vehicle Run on August 14th, which is always a brilliant run - we've taken part for many a year.
...and continuing on the Wisbech theme, we are thinking of also having a visit to Elgoods Brewery in Wisbech too.
Moving away from the CCC, from memory I'm pretty sure that the FCF has had a 'mini-meet' at Duxford sometime last year...maybe something similar to that again?

Can I suggest 8th May? OK it's mid-Essex, but worth a visit. We would have to park in with everyone else, but could arrange to meet up at a pre-arranged point.
In the past, when the weather's been good it's a great autojumble to go to. Large turn out of fab classics too. A good day out.

And then there's Duxford: Flying Legends display 9/10 July...

I'll probably have to give the auto jumble a miss but Duxford last year was rather fun Phils photos here so count me in for that. I'm sure the XM would be up for the EPIC trip.

I wasn't on about arranging an entire show, just a get together of a few owners at a local pub on a sunday, or something similar. There's nothing better than going out for lunch with fellow owners in the summer, as much as shows are a nice thing to go to, for those whose cars are not showing material!

Good point, there's room for both IMO. (And Duxford isn't a 'show' as the cars most definitely aren't displayed - just a means of getting there lol).
What we need is a decent venue then - a pub in Saffron Walden (eg) or wherever....

Saffron Walden is a lovely drive from my place (45 minutes of B-Roads)...
Saffron Walden is good, potentially Suffolk or Cambridgeshire somewhere... I don't want to arrange it on my doorstep... I'd rather somewhere central for anyone interested...
If I was going all out, I'd go for the Grasshopper Inn in Westerham Kent, but I think that's a bit out of the way!
