Hello all. I have just moved house, and extra garage space means that my 2005 MX5 can finally be retired from daily driving duty and become a rare sunny day treat.
It’s only worth £1500 or so but I love it, and recently spent £3400 on rust and bodywork, so I won’t be getting rid of it.
I have one young child and another on the way. Doing the house up means plenty of large loads to the tip, builders merchants, screwfix etc, so that pointed towards an estate. My new commute is 90% motorway, so that pointed towards something refined and more than anything else, comfortable.
So I just bought a 2.2 C5 Touring Exclusive - I wanted the hydractive suspension. I pick it up next week. Very excited.
It will join my Mx5, my wife’s Peugeot 308 and my KTM 990 SMT (which as I now won’t be commuting by motorbike might be changed for something more focussed...)
Past French cars include a few 206 GTis, and a 306 GTi. I’ve never owned a Citroen before though.
My childhood was being ferried around in a Renault 4, 2CV, Peugeot 504 then 405, so I was indoctrinated early on.
Non French cars from my own past include an S2000, Rx8, A4, and plenty of Triumph Spitfires and GT6s.
Look forward to getting to know the forum, and my new C5!
Volant.
