C16? Well sort of

Found this forum and it looks good, useful real technical advice not just 'manufacturer/dealer bashing' like some. Just sold a much loved SAAB 9-5 which I had for 6 years, 20k miles when I got it, 107k now but the mpg hurting. Anyone going to SAAB could do worse than the saabtechtalk.com forum.

So - I now have a C5 Tourer, 2.0hdi VTS+Nav 160 manual. Bought 15 months old with 19k on the clock, lots of extras. Have couple of questions which I will post in the Citroen forum. Sort of wished for a proper uppy-downy suspension one, but this one was 'right' on price, condition and good deal on part ex SAAB so went for it.

Previous french car history: well my Dad - sadly long gone - had a Renault Fuego as a retirement present to himself, 9GTS and a 21 all of which I drove extensively. Back in the early 70's 2 friends had Renault 4's which I mended extensively. I had Renault 5 Gordini for 2 years from new (mad but totally unreliable).

Then Citroens: my wife and I have owned Dyanes (2, including a yellow one that did 78k miles in just over 3 years all round Europe), 2CV Charleston, Visa 1.7D, BX 19 RD - a really early one, did 110k miles - and a later BX 17 TRD. Then we got various more conventional Company cars, then returned to a Xantia 1.8 auto (sweet), Synergie 1.9TD SX with the slighty amusing personalised plate (The only one I have ever bought) A19SYN now with 137k on the clock but indispensible for all kinds of trips - serves as a beach hut, surfboard carrier, tip skip, football team bus, band transport (son is a big band drummer) .... , then got the SAAB, then added a second hand C3 1.4 diesel 'cool' as a town/station car and for my daughter to learn to drive, and now the C5 replaces the SAAB. Not much into conventional marques.

So, on the grounds that a Synergie became the C8, we currently have a C3 + C8 + C5 = C16. :D

So that's me and my cars. Hello. I will do my best to contribute from my experience and memory, and no doubt ask a few questions as I go along.
