I think we have to admit, the days when cars made classic is well over. Since the Americans took over Citroen and Peugeot build quality etc has gone down hill, but fast. These cars are not made to last, and are generally a pain in the butt throughout their short lives.

My own 1989 BX TZD with 60,000 on the clock will make classic. There's not a mark on it, just needs a good clean. The BX 16v is already a much sought after classic, as are the early first generation BX's.

GS's, ahhh the GS, what a car. And so few about now.

But who wants a clapped out Picasso to keep and call it a classic? Not me.

Yes the VW, as far as I know, is still owned by the chap who rescued it. You're right, worth a good deal now. Wish I had bought it, but just hadn't got £200 at the time.

It's only farmers who make real money, not the people who work for them, or sell to them.
